The first Le Grenier à Pain location in Africa is set to open in a few weeks in Nairobi’s Riverside suburb but even before the doors officially open to the public, production has already begun.

The team started performing test and trials of the 50+ products in the well-equipped production laboratory. Products will of course include the world famous Le Grenier à Pain traditional baguette, various pastries and other baked goods.

The output volume will progressively be ramped up. On average, the bakery will be able to produce 1,000 baguettes per day, as well as hundreds of croissants, pastries and other delectable treats.

The bakery is 100% staffed by Kenyan bakers and chefs who have been trained by Le Grenier à Pain master bakers in France. The Franchise training and coaching is central to the business model and will ensure that the high Le Grenier à Pain standards are consistently maintained in Nairobi.
